Girls are at the forefront of change. We facilitate girls’ recognition of their personal and group potential. We are sparking a movement of girls with leadership skills to advocate for their own rights and a future that does not re-create the risks they now face.
Crises of environment, urban stress, religious strife, and gender-based discrimination have inspired radical responses in how to empower girls who must contend with the obstacles to leading fulfilling lives.
Our Girls Our Future Campaign brings together adolescent girls from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds to grow their access to education, health knowledge, participation in decision-making and personal development.
Girls’ voices are silenced when they cannot read, write, or feel free to tell their stories. The Our Girls Our Future Campaign amplifies and acts upon the authentic stories of women and girls by elevating the power of story to champion real change.
The Our Girls Our Future Campaign ignites systemic change by:
Launching literacy clubs that foster the power of story
Training mentors to lead clubs and support girls’ learning journeys
Providing resources for educational achievement such as institutes, books, technology and sanitary supplies
Engaging entire communities to support girls as they learn and grow
Leveraging social and print media to intensify the power of girls’ voices for change
Enrolling allies in the movement to promote gender equality
Emergency Relief efforts provide emergency supplies such as food, water, hygiene kits, sleeping bags and mats to people fleeing violence and in urgent need of assistance. Our efforts so far have assisted distributions of long-lasting food packs. Our efforts will continue to provide emergency relief where it is most needed.
Rebuilding Efforts assist local communities begin the process of rebuilding their lives. Currently our efforts are focused in regions beyond the borders of live conflict where we are repairing and winterizing lifestyle to ensure that families can have a safe, secureand warm place with access to water and electricity. These efforts will continue and will be expanded as further need arises.
Livelihood Restoration seeks to provide small business grants, training and mentoring to those who have lost their livelihoods due to the conflict. This support allows people to start a small business and provide for their families independently again rather than relying on relief or being forced to leave their families in search of economic opportunities. Our efforts will fund this program supporting refugees that have crossed the border into the neigbouring countries.

Yes, someone who is legally responsible to pay Zakat can pay through monthly instalments throughout the year, with the intention of paying Zakat. When lunar year comes to an end, Zakat should be calculated, and whatever remains outstanding should be paid off. In similar fashion, outstanding amount can also be paid through instalment.
Yes, in order to fulfil one’s obligation, one must intend (i.e., specify) that they are paying Zakat. As an act of worship pertaining to financial dealings, an intention is required in order for it to be performed correctly. The intention (niyya) for fulfilling one’s obligation is to intend that one is paying Zakat, whether that be at time of distributing one’s wealth to those who are eligible (i.e., at the time of payment), or when setting Zakat money aside.
If these valuable stones and jewels [i.e., other than gold and silver] are for the purpose of trading, then they are liable for Zakat. If however, they are used for one’s personal use, Zakat does not need to be paid on it, irrespective of its value.
Zakat becomes obligatory if someone is minimally in possession of 612.36 grams of silver. One-fortieth (1/40) of the total amount should be paid as Zakat. Abu Sa`id al-Khudri states that Holy Prophet [SAW] said,
There is no Zakat upon any silver that is less than five awqiya (612.36 grams) [Bukhari, #1390].
It must be noted that the Zakat due is equivalent to 2.5% either by weight or value.
